About Us

After 20 years as a Personal Trainer, I was in need of a new challenge to expand my understanding of the brain and body relationship.

Coming across approaches highlighting the multi-layered importance of the cerebellum within the brain and body relationship, sparked and fuelled a new curiosity.

Armed with this new approach, it wasn’t long before existing clients were exposed to homemade metronomic Novelty Dots clips. They experienced for themselves how beneficial these simple looking but challenging movements are, and could think of family members or sporting clubs who would also benefit from this approach.

All of this, along with a nudge from a fantastic mentor, gave me the impetus to create what is now known as Novelty Dots.

Our Approach

Our approach sees the body system as a whole.

An underperforming action by the body, doesn’t always come down to the most obvious reason. For example, what might seem to be a shoulder limitation could stem from poor control of the neck or eyes.

If we see the body as one whole system, then it makes sense to offer the brain a diverse range of exercises to focus on.

The more information it has, the greater faith it can have in its body, and in doing so, improve performance and day-to-day functionality.

Acknowledgement

The research of neural inputs and their benefits to calming or focusing the brain to improve individual performance is well reported. While the collective presentation of these exercises is unique to Novelty Dots, there is no original claim to any of the individual exercises.

With this in mind, it is only right to acknowledge and thank those who have come before us by providing courses or free insightful content to the broader community: AMN Academy, Z-Health, GMB, Strength Side, and The.Brain.Guy.
